The Royal Experience—Our Branding Process

2 min. read

Branding isn’t just about what you look like — it’s about aligning who you are with where you’re going. At Your Majesty, we’ve spent over a decade helping organizations turn complex challenges into cohesive, magnetic brands. Along the way, we’ve refined our approach into a robust, collaborative framework we call: The Royal Experience.

It’s built to take you from ambiguity to articulation, from ambition to activation, from curiosity to clarity. It’s a courageous leap in a new direction infused with craftsmanship and camaraderie at every step.

Phase 1: Discovery & Concept

  • Timeline: 4-6 weeks

We start with questions—lots of them.

This phase is all about leaning into curiosity—exploring your business, your customers, your competitors, and your ambition. It’s a space for learning, listening, and challenging assumptions.

Brand Workshops

We begin with a series of strategic onboarding and immersion workshops. Preferably in person, but remote is acceptable, we align on purpose, success criteria, priorities, and practicalities — setting a shared vision and rhythm for the work ahead.

  • Milestones: Account briefing, kickoff, immersion, onboarding
  • Outputs: Project approach, immersion recap, detailed timeline, roles and responsibilities
  • Stakeholders: Executives, brand/marketing leads, project sponsor(s)

“Your Majesty enabled us to truly understand our customer’s thoughts. Their approach is intense but fun. At every step of the way, they make sure you feel at ease, so you can show your vulnerable side while bringing your expertise.”

CEO, Blush Jewels

Research & Positioning

Here, we dive deeper. Through stakeholder interviews, customer insights, and cultural analysis, we seek clarity, identifying the signals and tensions that define your space.

Our goal is to frame the right problem before we design the right solution.

  • Milestones: Interview booking, insight synthesis, personality workshop
  • Outputs: Interviewee profiles, insight presentation, creative territories
  • Stakeholders: Internal team leads, customers, strategic partners

Creative Concept

Insight meets imagination. We develop early creative directions that bring your positioning to life visually and verbally. This stage is about having the courage to explore, to edit, and to align around a single strategic path forward.

  • Milestones: Concept presentations
  • Outputs: Refined brand positioning, concept write-up, brand strategy draft
  • Stakeholders: Brand/Marketing decision-makers, Executive sponsors

Phase 2: Strategy & Direction

  • Timeline: ~5–6 weeks
  • Led by Strategy. Supported by Design.

With a clear direction, we focus on definition. We build the architecture and expression of your brand — translating what you believe into how you show up.

Brand Strategy

We capture your belief system, personality, tone of voice, and brand story in a way that feels sharp, human, and real. This is where strategy becomes substance.

  • Milestones: Strategy draft, Strategy Presentations
  • Outputs: Brand Strategy Deck, Narrative Framework, Brand Manifesto
  • Stakeholders: Brand leadership, marketing/comms, executive team

For Dutch interior brand POLSPOTTEN we identified that "Play" was the heart of the company. From that insight, we built the brands tone of voice—encompassing fun, curiosity and unexpected enthusiasm throughout.

Identity Design & Content Direction

Our design team brings it to life with craftsmanship, developing a flexible identity system rooted in meaning. Logos, colors, typography, content formats, and motion principles are all tailored to express the strategy with precision and emotion.

  • Milestones: Visual ID Kickoff, Visual ID Presentations,
  • Outputs: Mockups & Art Direction, Imagery Direction, Motion Direction, Copy Direction, 3rd Party Production Briefs
  • Stakeholders: Client PoC, Brand/Marketing leads, Executives
  • Led by Design. Consulted by Strategy.
