AMSTERDAM, 3 October 2026. The Way, the meditation app co-founded by Zen teacher Henry Shukman, has launched its new website at thewayapp.com. Your Majesty, part of Infinum, led the strategy, design and development.

The Way teaches meditation as one path. One session a day, in a set order, over 3 years. Henry, a Sanbo Zen master with 35 years of practice, guides every session, from first steps in mindfulness through to the deeper practices of the Zen tradition.

In the app, students walk that path through a series of desert landscapes. The new website brings those landscapes to the browser.

“Our new website is our attempt to bring a little of [New Mexico] to you: a taste of the Santa Fe desert, and of what it’s like to sit with Henry. So many landing pages look and feel interchangeable now. We wanted this one to feel made with love, by people. Because it was.”

It started in Santa Fe#

In their first week of building The Way, the founding team met in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It’s Henry’s home, and the home of Mountain Cloud Zen Center, where he taught for many years.

High desert. 7,000ft. Raw light and mountains that pull your eye to the horizon. That’s where the team decided using The Way should feel like walking a path through beautiful landscapes, mirroring the inner path Henry’s teaching guides you on.

The app delivered on that idea, and students stay with it for years. With more people discovering Henry on podcasts and searching for The Way straight after, the website needed to give them that same feeling on first visit: the depth of the training, the single path, and the desert they’d soon be walking through.

What we built#

The brief asked for a site that feels like sitting down for a session with Henry. Calm, spacious and sure of itself. No stock photography, and no AI-generated imagery.

  • Brand Delta Analysis first. We opened the project with our Brand Delta Analysis, mapping how AI models such as ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity describe The Way against how the team describes itself.
  • A homepage you walk through. The homepage is a 3D desert you scroll along, step by step, with sound you can switch on and one clear next step at the end: download the app.
  • One system for app and web. We moved the site from WordPress to Contentful, the same CMS that already runs the app. The team now manages events, partner pages, the lifetime subscription and scholarship applications in one place, without a developer.

“Henry’s teaching moves slowly and with intent, so we built a site that moves the same way. You scroll through the desert one step at a time, and by the end the only thing left to do is begin.”
