Welcoming three new knights
3 min readWelcoming the latest members of our team with this short introduction...
Meet Ben Culpin — Senior Strategist
Our new Senior Strategist is Ben. Although originally from the UK Ben has been part of many different cultures from an early age, including New York, Barcelona, Paris, and Hong Kong - he’s now been living in Amsterdam for the last 14 years.
Professionally speaking Ben is a research-driven strategist with a clear creative capability, previously working for brands such as Emirates Airlines, Nike, Huawei, and Just Eat. Ben loves making sense of things, from lived experience, intimate dialogue, and a heart-felt perspective — and isn’t afraid to roll up his sleeves and be creative too. Ben is a self-confessed nerd and loves technology.
“My all-time favourite project was for Nike. As Saudi Arabia was opening up to tourism, I was asked to research youth sports culture for the brand. I had the most incredible experience interviewing and documenting the stories of athletes, everyday people and coaches. On top of that, I had the opportunity to participate in some once-in-a-lifetime activities - including a midnight full moon hike through the mountains.”
Ben brings a wealth of incredible experiences to the team including:
Insight Development — through research methodologies, to help inform brand communication and product strategy.
Innovative Thinking — including technology hacks and leveraging AI.
Holistic Brand Strategy — transforming brand narratives and positioning, facilitating cultural transformations, and reimagining brand identities to align with market shifts and preferences of “the people”.
Humility and Active Listening — to tackle new challenges and disciplines through fresh questions and his unique point of view.
When Ben isn’t strategising or transforming brands, he runs his own podcast, Dam Kind Conversations and produces short films. He has a keen interest in languages — “I’m supermarket fluent in Dutch and Portuguese”. Ben’s most recent creative accomplishment is designing and managing an entire home renovation.
Meet Katie Gill — Project Manager
Katie joins the team from Nottingham UK as a Project Manager with strong experience in busy London studios. She built up her skills in project management in the education sector after studying graphic design — she loves working in creative businesses.
Katie's passion is improving processes and collaborating with team members to get things done. She prides herself on being calm, and diplomatic and has meticulous attention to detail — nothing gets past her. Katie loves working on character-led branding projects and bringing them to life in the digital space — a perfect fit for the team here at Your Majesty.
Outside of PM-ing, you can find Katie enjoying cats, ceramics, playing football, and her most Dutch trait — dolloping mayonnaise on fries and beyond. She’s in her cycling era, enjoying long bike rides on the weekend, exploring and appreciating the flat and chilled countryside the Netherlands has to offer.
Meet Karen Carr — Client Director
Karen joins us from South Africa as our client director to lead the discipline and orchestration of our clients’ 'Royal Experience' with unmatched service and trusted advisory.
Throughout her career in advertising, marketing and digital experience, Karen’s worked with many notable brands including Clinique, Macy's, the Ministry of Culture Saudi Arabia and NEOM Oxagon. On top of this, she co-founded Benji + Moon, a curated collection of South African handcrafted pet products supporting local artisans and changing shelter animals lives. Using her experience as a business owner, Karen has been an active speaker and contributor in the entrepreneurship space.
Outside of working hours Karen is a Meditation Teacher and a constant student of being a better being.
Karen believes in making (great) things happen with heart and humour — and that’s exactly what she’s brought to the office from day one.
